Steve Miller and “Abracadabra” will always have a special place in my heart. He taught me about being spontaneous, open to the muse, and having fun in the studio. It marked a big comeback for Steve and was my first #1 album and single... #1 in 13 countries at the time, it was a big hit! My wife was pregnant with our first child, life was beautiful.
We went on to make numerous albums after that: “Italian X-Rays”, “Steve Miller Band Live”, and “Living In The 20th Century”. Whether it was recording at Capitol in Hollywood, near his home in Seattle, or camped out in Sun Valley, Idaho, it was always an adventure with Steve.
